Boy, Are They Slow To Get It

According to CIA data released yesterday, 11,000 attacks worldwide, killing more than 14,600 non-combatants, including 8,300 in Iraq. Of the 56 American civilians killed by terrorists in 2005, some 47 of them were in Iraq. They stated this shows the war has become driving factor for extremists. Three years after its invasion of Iraq the US Administration acknowledged yesterday that the war has become “a cause” for Islamic extremists worldwide and there is a risk of the country becoming a safe haven for terrorists hoping to launch fresh attacks on America.
Isn’t this what we have been trying to get across to these people? The one stated reason for the terrorists to be against us, is our continued military presence in Saudi Arabia and the other Arab nations? Then when you add the torture at Abu Ghraib, you could not have had a better enrollment add for joining a terrorist group. Are Mr. Bush and this Administration really that stupid? more…

Rush to Judgment

After three years, I was hoping that this was true. But when I turned on the television this morning, I find that another Republican blowhard has had a sweetheart deal given to him. Surprise, surprise!
This is a man who has spent his life telling others how to live. He has been especially hard core against drug abusers. He has stated that drug users are the scourge upon America. That all drug users should be put in prison for life. Throw away the key.
Turns out that he is only against those who use drugs which you can’t get from a Doctor. Street drugs. As long as you get a prescription, no matter if you get that prescription illegally, it’s okay with him.
He told his listeners that he became addicted because of back pain. As usual, those righteous Republicans forget that most people who use drugs are in pain also. Many have physical pain, but many have emotional pain. Pain is pain. Drugs are drugs. Illegal is illegal. more…

The Ultimate Sex Toy

While one Republican is trying to do away with South Carolinian’s right to sex toys, it seems that Republican Congressmen in Washington D. C. didn’t get the message.
Isn’t a prostitute the ultimate sex toy? Besides you don’t have to pass any new laws. Prostitution is illegal in forty-nine states and Washington D. C.. more…

What’s All The Buzz About?

Just when you think the Republicans have stomped into our lives in the worst way, you find that, no, they have another outrage to inflict on us.
A South Carolina Representative, Ralph Davenport, would make it a felony to sell devices used primarily for sexual stimulation and allow law enforcement to seize sex toys from raided businesses.
Yes folks, with all the problems we have in this world, your use and enjoyment of a sex toy, in your bedroom, is what the Republican’s need to focus on. more…

Dangerous Times

As I have written in a previous post the next five months are a really dangerous time for America and the world. Mr. Bush and his Administration will do anything to keep their power.
They have brought in new faces, hoping that this will help. It has never helped with any other Administration. They have been talking war, again, but this backfired. America wants out of wars. They have tried putting Mr. Bush out there talking, but this seems to have backfired. We don’t want to hear him. He is such a terrible talker. Most American’s don’t believe what he says. Nothing is helping with their poll numbers. Thirty-two percent approval is not good.
What will they do now, to change those numbers? Not just for Mr. Bush, but for the Republicans chances of retaining control in November. more…

Three Strikes and You’re Out!

Can’t Mr. Bush finish anything? Throughout his life, he has started one thing after another and when the going gets rough, he walks away. He has never finished a job.

Seems he can’t finish a war, either. First we strike Afghanistan. And before the blood is even dry there, he invades Iraq. Blood is still flowing in Iraq and now he’s off to Iran. Well, not Mr. Bush personally, but he will lie, again, to get his new war. He will have to draft your sons and daughters.

For a man who has never seen combat, he certainly seems to love war. But he warned us. Before he even ran for the Presidency, he said that if he ever was President, he would do a good war. A big war and he would win it. Because that is the only way that you go down in history as a great President.

He is still looking for that big, good war that he can win. If he doesn’t win in Iran, wonder where the next war will be. He has until 2009 to win one. more…

Get Ready for a Snow Job

President Bush on Wednesday named conservative commentator Tony Snow as White House press secretary, putting a new face on a troubled administration.
After two Press Secretaries whom no one with a thinking brain believed, we now have a professional liar. Mr. Tony Snow has worked for Fox News. So we know he can tell a lie, with a straight face and he has the ability to make many people believe the lie. I wonder if he will be able to keep it up when he is not just reading from a script, but facing the few questions our National Press asks, may break even him. more…

Troops Never Leave!

People are discussing if it is a good thing to have permanents bases in Iraq. The question on their minds is, should we build one? We already have twenty-three bases there, along the oil pipeline. They are as close to permanent as possible. All they need to do is change the runways from the metal surface to concrete. Not too hard to do. But, now they are talking about a few really big bases, with all the bling.
This is just another one of the many lies which this Administration is telling. Why are we even discussing this? A discussion means that the outcome can be changed. This will not. It is not something we can have any role in deciding It has already been decided, even before the war started. What country have we ever sent troops, where we have won the war, where we have not built bases? Where we have ever withdrawn our troops? The United States has over 200,000 troops stationed in 144 countries and territories. more…

Big Brother? No, Big Daddy!

”Kansas State Attorney General, Mr. Kline’s daft idea to require doctors, school counselors and psychotherapists, among others, to report all sexual activity by people under 16, from kissing to sexual intercourse”.

I thought this was what we had parents for! Can’t these people stay out of our lives? Can’t they stay out of our bodies? Can’t they just go away or at least, go to one of the many countries which believe and practice religion tied hand in hand with the government. A Taliban type government perhaps? But not here in America!

In February, the Kansas Supreme Court blocked state’s attorney general, Mr. Kline from invading the medical privacy of 90 women and girls who were treated at two abortion clinics. This week, a federal trial judge in Wichita killed Mr. Kline’s daft idea to require doctors, school counselors and psychotherapists, among others, to report all sexual activity by people under 16, from kissing to sexual intercourse.
A federal judge in Kansas has just dealt another blow to the crusade by the Phill Kline, to restrict abortions under the phony banner of combating child abuse.
In 2003, Mr. Kline issued an advisory opinion that changed the interpretation of Kansas’ law requiring the reporting of child abuse. It made mandatory the reporting of every instance of suspected consensual sex among teenagers of similar ages, including any pregnancy, sexually transmitted disease or request for contraception.{Source}

Civic Classes: Important to Being an American Citizen.

When I was in school, even elementary students took Civic Classes. Along with History and Social Studies. Not anymore. It may be because of the enactment of the No Child Left Behind Act, which requires a concentration on math and reading skills.
Math and reading are important. But what about writing? What about knowing all that we can about our country and our Constitution? It is a sad state our schools are in, when they don’t teach what every alien who wants to become an United States Citizen has to learn. more…
