Politics Against America

Once again Mr. Bush uses hate, religion and politics to try to stem the tide against the Republicans losing power.

Mr. Bush and the Religious Right are claiming : “Marriage is being redefined by ‘activist judges’”. As a new Cato Institute report by Professor Dale Carpenter notes, “The ‘threat’ from courts is more imagined than real.” Only one state has adopted same-sex marriage as a result of a court decision; 45 states have barred same-sex marriage by various means. The question isn’t whether “activist judges” should redefine marriage, but whether the states should have the opportunity to settle this matter in their own fashion, without federal interference. (These “activist judges” from Massachusetts are all Republican appointed judges).

This really has already been answered in one court case. Just substitute the word gender for race.

The freedom to marry has long been recognized as one of the vital personal rights essential to the orderly pursuit of happiness by free men. Under our Constitution, the freedom to marry, or not marry, a person of another race resides with the individual and cannot be infringed by the State.

What other License can the State deny an American based on sexual orientation? Driver’s License, Real Estate License, Beautician License or Hunting License?

When will justice come?
When those who are not injured
are as indignant as those who are.

Mr. Bush ran on this issue in the 2000 election. He ran on this issue again in the 2004 election. Thankfully, between these two elections, he forgot about the whole thing. He was focused on selling fear and his wars and destroying our economy by giving tax cuts to the rich, taking away benefits for the average American and spending us into debt in the amount of $9 Trillion, more borrowing than the previous 41 presidents combined. He is such a little rich boy. A boy who does not know the meaning of a budget, because Daddy will always give him more. Well, I am not your Daddy! I did not give you anything, but the stupid people who want to blame others for their problems, (like Gay Marriage has anything to do with your marriage. Good or bad, it is what you are doing or not doing. It has nothing to do with what other people are doing). Even today, it is being reported that this issue just does not matter to Mr. Bush. He is just going through the motions, to fire up his base.
The Republicans do need something. They can not use fear. They can not afford another attack on America, after they got away with the first one. They can not run on the economy. (Are you better off now than you were in the 1990’s?). Gas prices are hurting most Americans. Except for those who received all those tax breaks.

What are they left with? Fear of the Gay America Citizen wanting the same Rights as the rest of us.
Shame on all of them!
