Remember What We Are Fighting For?

We must fight this war! Why? Because he is a dictator, there are rape rooms, there is torture. there are mass graves, there is mass killing of innocent civilians, and no one is held accountable. There are not free and fair elections. They have weapons of mass destruction and they will use them. He either knew about and let the terrorist attack America or has used it to his benefit. The people are not allowed to practice their brand of religion or be free from religion.
What country are we talking about?
In 2001 this is what Mr. Bush and his Cabal was saying about Iraq. Now Iraq and the world is saying the same thing about America. Good job, Mr. Bush and thanks.

Even as video and photo evidence as well as a signed police report all seem to contradict the official US story, a military investigation into the alleged Ishaqi massacre has “cleared” the troops of misconduct. The whole explanation stinks, but the US MSM for the most part have no trouble accepting the official version without asking the tough questions, even though both the US military and the Bush administration a number of times previously have provided contradictory and false information about events occurring in Iraq.
Even as it has become clear that two dozen civilians in Haditha – men, women, children, elderly – were victims of a premeditated, bloody massacre which took many hours to unfold — a massacre which the military subsequently lied about — the US MSM still accept the premise that this is just a case of a few bad apples.{Source}

What ever happened to our troops, who went in and won the hearts and minds of the people we were liberating? We have not done so since World War II and we have lost every other war since then. Oh, some are stalemates, with our troops still there on one side of the line. But the others we have lost.

When you act like the biggest mobsters in the world, what more can you expect than the people of the country that you are occupying will take up arms against you? Wouldn’t you?

We know about the torture. We know about the rapes. We know about the mass graves. We know about the mass killings of innocent civilians. We know about all the bodies which have shown up all over Iraq, bound hand and foot, shot through the head. We know that these things happened before we invaded. But we also know that we have tortured the Iraqi people. We know about the rapes done by our troops against the young boys and girls to try to get information from their parents. We know about the mass graves that we have filled and tried to hide. We know about the mass killings of innocent civilians which our troops have carried out. We know that America is responsible for these crimes against humanity.

We always wondered how the German people could have let the horrific crimes against humanity happen. Now we know. We have allowed these same crimes, on a smaller scale to be sure, to happen and to continue to happen. We are guilty of the same crime. When our Government does these things, and we do not protest it and do everything within our power to stop it, we are guilty of that crime!
If I pay for, or plan a crime or hide a crime, I am as guilty as the person who does the crime.

I remember clearly the first suspicions I had that murder most foul might be taking place in our name in Iraq. I was in the Baghdad mortuary, counting corpses, when one of the city’s senior medical officials, an old friend, told me of his fears. “Everyone brings bodies here,” he said. “But when the Americans bring bodies in, we are instructed that under no circumstances are we ever to do postmortems. We were given to understand that this had already been done. Sometimes we’d get a piece of paper like this one with a body.” And here the man handed me a U.S. military document showing with the hand-drawn outline of a man’s body and the words “trauma wounds.”
What kind of trauma is now being experienced in Iraq? Just who is doing the mass killing? Who is dumping so many bodies on garbage heaps? After Haditha, we are going to reshape our suspicions.
But this is us. This is our army. These young soldiers are our representatives in Iraq. And they have innocent blood on their hands.
I suspect part of the problem is that we never really cared about Iraqis, which is why we refused to count their dead. Once the Iraqis turned upon the army of occupation with their roadside bombs and suicide cars, they became Arab “gooks,” the evil sub-humans whom the Americans once identified in Vietnam. Get a president to tell us that we are fighting evil and one day we will wake to find that a child has horns, a baby has cloven feet.
Remind yourself these people are Muslims and they can all become little Mohamed Attas. Killing a roomful of civilians is only a step further from all those promiscuous air strikes that we are told kill ‘terrorists” but which all too often turn out to be a wedding party or — as in Afghanistan — a mixture of “terrorists” and children or, as we are soon to hear, no doubt, “terrorist children.”
I think it becomes a habit, this sort of thing. Already the horrors of Abu Ghraib are shrugged away. It was abuse, not torture. And then up pops a junior officer in the United States charged for killing an Iraqi army general by stuffing him upside down in a sleeping bag and sitting on his chest. And again, it gets few headlines. Who cares if another Iraqi bites the dust? Aren’t they trying to kill our boys who are out there fighting terror.
For who can be held to account when we regard ourselves as the brightest, the most honorable of creatures, doing endless battle with the killers of Sept. 11 or July 7 because we love our country and our people — but not other people — so much. And so we dress ourselves up as Galahad’s, yes as Crusaders, and we tell those whose countries we invade that we are going to bring them democracy. I can’t help wondering today how many of the innocents slaughtered in Haditha took the opportunity to vote in the Iraqi elections — before their “liberators” murdered them.

It is time to stand up and shout, “Not in my name” and “Not with my tax dollars”! If you continue to let your life be too busy to write, protest and vote these criminals out of office, then you are just as responsible for the crimes they commit. Just say NO!
