Selling Fear Again and Breaking The Laws Again

Shouldn’t the first question we have, is the violating of our Rights by spying on our phone calls making us safer? Mr. Bush says that they have had to do this, to keep us safe and the polls have asked the question phrased in a way that it is either we spy on Americans or the terrorist win. Which do you want? Well, if you scare people enough, they usually will do almost anything to stay alive.

All you have to do is look at what people will do when in a violent situation. People will even kill others to stay alive for another moment. When told to kill him or be killed, many will take the gun and kill the other person. If in a camp, many will steal the food, clothes or blankets from the weaker, to stay alive. This is what Mr. Bush and this Cabal is counting on. If enough fear is sold to Americans, they will approve of most Rights being denied them.

“They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

~Benjamin Franklin~ (1706 - 1790)

Mr. Bush and his Administration, had the wiretap transmissions and the Presidential Daily Briefings which told them that American was in immediate danger. Did any of this keep us safe on September 11, 2001? No, we were attacked, with no protection, even the normal protection that daily went on in our skies. Not one military plane went up to investigate one of the four planes, even though they were known to be hijacked. In the previous eight months, more than 64 planes, which were off course, were intercepted, but not one, on 911.

So, how does all this spying keep us safe? Mr. Bush, come clean. This has nothing to do with keeping us safe, it does have to do with your power to do away with the Constitution and our Rights. You wouldn’t know what to do with any information you might get from this crime. You proved that when you did nothing with the information from the Presidential Daily Breifing, of a planned attack on America, by planes. You proved that when you were notified on 911 that America was under attack. You sat in that classroom, looking like a deer caught in the headlights.

As the blog Firedoglake so ably reports, the Washington Post spying. The problem is that when you read the poll closely, they only support it when it might lead to apprehending terrorists. As we know, that is the discredited and highly dubious claim being used by the Busheviks to implement their domestic spying program — and the dismantling of the Constitution in general. So, it is an extremely incompetent, even propagandistic poll.
So, as Firedog Lake astutely observes, the Post poll quickly became the “conventional wisdom” benchmark of the mainstream media and Democratic conventional leadership, even though it never emphasized the real pertinent questions, such as: “If the Bush Administration was using domestic spying for purposes other than tracking Al Qaeda suspects, would you support it?” or “If it was highly unlikely that the kind of domestic spying being used by NSA, including records of virtually every call being made in the U.S. — including your own, could effectively be used to stop much terrorism, would you support its use?”
Such questions would probably yield the exact opposite of the Post poll. In fact anecdotal information indicates that a landslide of Americans would oppose the current NSA lawbreaking — authorized by Bush and implemented by General Hayden — under such circumstances. And, remember, these ARE the circumstances. {Source}

The American people are learning. The approval rating for Mr. Bush is now at 29%. In the couple of years after 911, the approval rates in these polls on this type of issue were in the 90’s. Then it begin to drop to the 80% approval range. A year ago, when this question of spying on Americans was brought out, the polls were much higher, than the 60% approval range now. After a little thought, the support numbers will go down. Each time you use fear, the people are not as afraid as in the past.
If you truly wanted America to continue to be a great Democracy, at heart, you would be selling strength and bravery to us. Stop selling fear! Stop selling us out! Just stop! It is time for you to step down and stop pretending to be a President. You don’t have the morals to sit in the White House.

I’ll take a President any day, who has affairs and lies about it, over a man who breaks the laws and destroys the Constitution and our country. Just stop! Just go away!

I will not give up any of my rights. I am an “American Citizen All Rights Reserved”. You can buy a T-Shirt with those words on it here. Let them know that you are not willing to give up any of your Rights, ever!
