We Have No Power!
So, We the People, vote to decide who becomes President. Isn’t that what we are taught? Isn’t that what we believe? Isn’t that why we take time out of our lives, to go to the polls and cast our votes?
Well, the truth is, we are wasting our time. We do not decide. Unless, the State we live in, let’s us. That’s right, folks. It is not our Right, but a fiction that the States allow us to believe.
Let the “little people” think they have a say. It makes them feel important. It keeps them quiet. It keeps them supporting our policies. It keeps the important people in power.

None of those words make me a proud Citizen of America. They make me a fool. They make all those who voted a fool. Because we believed. We believed this was our Country. We believed that we had a choice in who lead us. Fools!
“The individual citizen has no federal constitutional right to vote for electors for the President of the United States unless and until the state legislature chooses a statewide election as the means to implement its power to appoint members of the Electoral College. U.S. Const., Art. II, §1. This is the source for the statement in McPherson v. Blacker, 146 U.S. 1, 35 (1892), that the State legislature’s power to select the manner for appointing electors is plenary; it may, if it so chooses, select the electors itself, which indeed was the manner used by State legislatures in several States for many years after the Framing of our Constitution. Id., at 28-33. History has now favored the voter, and in each of the several States the citizens themselves vote for Presidential electors. When the state legislature vests the right to vote for President in its people, the right to vote as the legislature has prescribed is fundamental; and one source of its fundamental nature lies in the equal weight accorded to each vote and the equal dignity owed to each voter. The State, of course, after granting the franchise in the special context of Article II, can take back the power to appoint electors. See id., at 35 (“[T]here is no doubt of the right of the legislature to resume the power at any time, for it can neither be taken away nor abdicated”)(quoting S. Rep. No. 395, 43d Cong., 1st Sess.).”
Bush v. Gore
Supreme Court of the U.S.
Dec. 12, 2000
The State, of course, after granting the franchise in the special context of Article II, can take back the power to appoint electors. See id., at 35 (“[T]here is no doubt of the right of the legislature to resume the power at any time, for it can neither be taken away nor abdicated”)
By this ruling, the Supreme Court allowed Florida to change the rules in mid game. We all believed that we were voting by the laws in effect on Election Day. None of us realized, that the rules could be changed after the voting was done. Isn’t that tantamount to an Ex Post Facto Law? “A law that makes illegal an act that was legal when committed, increases the penalties for an infraction after it has been committed, or changes the rules of evidence to make conviction easier. The Constitution prohibits the making of Ex Post Facto Law.” Ex Post Facto. “An explanation or regulation concocted after the event, sometimes misleading or unjust”. “Your Ex Post Facto defense won’t stand up in court”. From Latin, meaning “after the deed”.
Except in our Supreme Court. By these Justice’s, (the term is used loosely), who are Originalists, (those who believe that the Constitutional is a Dead Document; every ruling should be based on what the Framer’s meant at the time the Constitution was written and ratified. Rather than a Living document, which changes with time. A “Living Will” for America! As the Framers included the ability for future generations to add new Amendments, they thought of it as a Living Document. Matter of fact, they added Ten Amendments to the Constitution themselves. Which proves the point that it is suppose to be changeable. Not dead).
Isn’t that charging Floridians with a crime for an act, which was not a crime, at the time they committed the act? Crime? Possibly. Voting where we don’t have a right to vote, is a felony.
Fairness? The American Way? Level playing field? Every vote counts? Rule of Law? Democracy? I think not!
We must do all we can, to bring a true Democracy to our land! We can not afford to have a group, with a vested interest in the outcome of our elections, decide who our leaders are. This is a Right all of us must demand! We must pass the laws, which takes this power away from the courts, this group of powerful people and puts the power squarely in the people’s hands! This is my Right as an American!/p>
To make this happen go to: {Reclaim Democracy} or
{Fair Vote}
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me”
an old adage
Fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can’t get fooled again.
new adage by Mr. Bush
Mr. Bush is right! I won’t be fooled again. How about you? Do you want to go back to those days, when the white, male, property owners were the only ones who could vote? Where State machines decided who was elected? Or do you want a true Democracy? Where the Rights of the citizen to the power we have is upheld even in the voting of our leaders. It is “We The People” who give limited power to the Government for certain things. By our continued agreement. We have the Right to withdraw that authority.
They better watch out. We may come to the point where we will not agree to give them the limited power anymore. This is why they had to changed who voted for the Presidency. The people demand that it be taken out of the States hands and put the power with the people.
Nothing every changes in this country, until and unless we demand it. We must get very verbal and noisy and impolite about this.
Never again will I accept a court or a State taking away the “Right and Power of the People” to elect their President. How about you?
Do any of these following words apply to what has gone on with the last two elections? Or with this Administration’s dealings with us or the world?
