Bush Speaks and Our Ears Turn Red!

Blasts from the past:

“Americans are tired of investigations and scandal. And the best way to get rid of them is to elect a new president who will bring a new administration, who will restore honor and dignity to the White House.”

~George W. Bush~
Sept. 15, 2000

Didn’t most of us believe that this statement meant that Mr. Bush was promising the American voters, that he and his whole Administration, would not lie, cheat, steal or do anything that would bring dishonor to the White House? Not that they would just get rid of the investigations!

“I think credibility is important. It’s going to be important to be the — for the president to be credible with Congress, important for the president to be credible with foreign nations. And yes, I think it’s something that people need to consider.”

~George W. Bush~
Oct. 11, 2000

Some American’s should have considered for a much longer time and used more brain power. In 2000 you may be forgiven for not seeing the lack of credibility. Mr. Rove is nothing, if he is not a great snake oil salesman. But by 2004, only a fool could not see the total lack of credibility.

“I’m not sure the role of the United States is to go around the world and say ‘this is the way it’s got to be…’ I would be very careful about using our troops as nation builders.”

~George W. Bush~
Oct. 3, 2000

Well, he certainly has kept that promise. Our troops have not been used for nation building. They have been used for Party Politics. They have been used for Mr. Bush’s hopes for his place in history. For oil, for Corporations and for Cronyism. But never for Nation Building. And never for keeping America safe.
Today, The Washington Post reports that the much told story of the “Biological Laboratory Trailers” by Mr. Bush and top administration officials, was all lies. They knew it was a lie, while they were stating it as the truth. Using the lie to still sell the war to America.

On May 29, 2003, 50 days after the fall of Baghdad, President Bush proclaimed a fresh victory for his administration in Iraq: Two small trailers captured by U.S. and Kurdish troops had turned out to be long-sought mobile “biological laboratories.” He declared, “We have found the weapons of mass destruction.” The claim, repeated by top administration officials for months afterward, was hailed at the time as a vindication of the decision to go to war. But even as Bush spoke, U.S. intelligence officials possessed powerful evidence that it was not true. A secret fact-finding mission to Iraq — not made public until now (04/12/06) — had already concluded that the trailers had nothing to do with biological weapons. Leaders of the Pentagon-sponsored mission transmitted their unanimous findings to Washington in a field report on May 27, 2003, two days before the president’s statement. The three-page field report and a 122-page final report three weeks later were stamped “secret” and shelved. Meanwhile, for nearly a year, administration and intelligence officials continued to publicly assert that the trailers were weapons factories.

These same mobile labs were weather balloon launching platforms sold to Iraq by the British in the 1980’s. And the U. S. Government knew this, as surely as the British knew. Either proving that they knew it was a lie or that they are stupid, or both.

“I want to be judicious as to how to use the military. It needs to be in our vital interest, the mission needs to be clear, and the exit strategy obvious.”

~George W. Bush~

“I look forward to doing what is right to make the world more peaceful.”

Calling them lies, just does not seem to make any difference. It seems that even the Christians don’t really mind that Mr. Bush and the other Republicans in power tell lies. It seems that it’s okay for Christians to lie, if they are doing what they think is God’s work. Funny, I never saw that exception in the Bible’s Ten Commandments. Even those posted in our Court Houses or Public Schools.
By now, we know most of the list of lies by heart. Daily, the unknown, hidden but suspected lies are coming out. I will not list them here, since so many other sites,
Here, Here, Here, Here, Here and Here have great lists and articles on the lies.

Mr. Bush said that being President is hard work. Maybe if he told the truth, for once, he would find it easier. If he thinks it is hard work telling all those lies, repeating them and keeping them straight, (never mind having them make any sense), has he tried being an American listening to all these lies? Talk about being hard work. We are weary of the lies. We are weary that it just doesn’t seem to make any difference, when they are proven to be lies, nothing changes. They still pass laws based on those lies. They still take us to war, based on those lies. They still get away with all of their lies. We are weary! Either he needs to stop the hard work of acting as a President or we need to stop caring about the truth. We need a rest. We need to be free.
I guess he has not really read the Bible. Oh right, he does not read books.

Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

The Bible, John 8:32

If these are not lies and liars, what name would you give it?
Bushism? No, that is just too cute for all these lies. There are many true Bushism, those words which don’t make any sense. DubyaSpeaks? No, it is just too mundane for the lies which have led to so many deaths in these wars.
The term lies, just didn’t work after so many of them have been laid upon us. Lies have lost it’s negative power. “Cowboy Bullshit” became my name for it. Tales told around the campfire. Nobody really believes the lies told. Problem is, too many Americans believed them.

After awhile, I begin thinking of it as “Texan Truth”. (With apologies to those Texan’s who are truthful). When it broaden to be coming from most Republicans, it became “Republican Truth”. These were not just tales. These were terrible lies, which were being told as truth by Republicans, with great harm coming from those lies. But this was a name so soft, with the name Truth in it. I could not find in any truth in what they were saying. This put it on the level of “A Fish Story”. We all shake our heads and say “Yeah, sure”! But nobody dies, except from laughter, maybe, from these fibs.
But after awhile, these rather tame names just didn’t convey the intensity of my anger at the lies.
Now, I can not keep out of the gutter. I found myself saying Bullshit several times a day. That became too tame. What word could I use? There just wasn’t anything out there which fit .
We are way beyond needing cowboy boots to keep out of all the manure they are drowning us in. It’s nothing but crap coming out of their mouths! I now call it “ButtTalk”. Crude yes, but we are living in times which are much worse than crude. I am tired of all of it. I want the truth. The plain, simple truth.

This great site covers all the daily news that’s important, either “Unknown or too little known”, as they say, with some great “comebacks” and articles from Helen & Harry Hightower. cllick on “Home” after you visit this
page which has many great quotes from all the characters in this Administration and Mr. Bush.
