NSA & AT&T In Bed Together Against Us
If you think that this Administration and America’s Corporations are not in bed together, working to destroy our Constitution and our Rights, then you have not been following the news from EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation). One of the most important groups out there fighting for our Rights.
Electronic Frontier Foundation filed a class-action lawsuit against AT&T, accusing the telecom giant of violating the law and the privacy of its customers by collaborating with the National Security Agency (NSA) in its massive and illegal domestic spying program to wiretap and data-mine Americans’ communications.
EFF, on behalf of a nationwide class of AT&T customers, is suing to stop this illegal conduct and hold AT&T responsible for its illegal collaboration in the government’s domestic spying program, which has violated the law and damaged the fundamental freedoms of the American public. The lawsuit request an injunction and damages under the statute. The laws provide that the victims can receive damages of at least $21,000 for each affected person.
AT&T violated the Law, and the Rights of its customers, by allowing and assisting with the illegal wiretapping and data-mining. The government’s spying program on ordinary Americans would not be possible without AT&T collaborating in violating your privacy. AT&T should have been standing up for you and your privacy. In this country we follow the law, we don’t just follow orders. {Source}
We all know about Mr. Bush spying on American’s, since 2001, without getting a court order, in violation of our Fourth Amendment Right and the FISA Law, which was passed exactly to stop Presidents from spying on American’s without having to go through the courts. But, how did he do it so easily?
Turns out that the biggest Telecommunications Company, AT&T passed all of your phone, internet and e-mails through the NSA. That’s right, every time you picked up the phone to make or receive a call, it first went to the NSA, and then to you and whomever you were talking to. They listened to your every conversation, if they wanted to. Did you say something against this Administration or Mr. Bush? Did you say how you wanted our troops brought home? Did you talk about anything which you would not want anyone else to hear? Maybe about your children’s drug use? Or your business dealings?
Did Mr. Bush and his Administration ask them to, or did they do this on their own? If Mr. Bush asked and sold the fear of we need this to protect America, then you can at least say, they bought the fear and acted under it. But, if they volunteered, they are beyond contempt. Either way, they still broke the Law and our trust!
AT&T is a “Fifth Column” to our “War on Terror”. We have been told that we are fighting this war to maintain our Freedoms, our Rights and our Constitutional Republic. Not to become a nation of Stasi like informers.
We now have police camera’s in neighborhoods, which we can hook our computers into and watch our neighbors. If we see something which we don’t like, we can call a number, giving the police the camera number and they will tune into that camera. That’s one step better than dictators have had in the past. Before, neighbors spied on neighbors and reported to the police. But you had to observe something in person, or lie about seeing something. Now, we can use highly powerful cameras to see into our neighbors yards, houses and lives. All recorded.
What have we become? When you fear, you do terrible things. We abide torture, extreme rendition, arresting and holding people without being charged with anything, seeing an attorney or being brought before a court, indefinitely, spying on Americans, on and on. Of course, it is not happening to you, so what do you care? Where will it end? Will you finally stand up and say no, when they start filling those Detention Centers, they just authorized to be built, with others? Or will you wait to stand up when you are being dragged into one?
Write to AT&T and tell them that you are mad as hell about this. If you have a choice, change phone companies. Make them hurt for harming you! They have broken a trust with you. And the law.
