If You Don’t Agree With Me, Be Quiet! Or Else……

This week, as we find exactly how far Mr. Bush will go to squash any American from speaking his mind, of telling the truth, I find myself going to the quotes of our past Presidents. Not that these Presidents didn’t also do terrible things against American Citizens. Not that these Presidents didn’t break laws, as the Supreme Court ruled against some of their actions in times of war. But, they at least talked about what America should be. When did you ever hear Mr. Bush say anything which uplifted us? He talks about fear, evil and he uses words to divide us. It is the only way that this Cabal can rule.

All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.

~Thomas Jefferson~

Unlike many of our past Presidents, many of them were well traveled, they were well read, they were well educated and had inquiring minds, Mr. Bush did not travel the world in his youth. Even though his father was President and he could have gone along on his trips. Even though there was plenty of money in his family to travel. Mr. Bush did not read the Great Masters. Mr. Bush did not do well in school. Mr. Bush is not a great thinker. Mr. Bush does not have an inquiring mind. Mr. Bush does not read newspapers or books. (Except the book about the Goat, on September 11, 2001. A children’s book). Mr. Bush does not appreciate the benefit from a discussion of all issues, from all the different sides of it. Mr. Bush does not believe in science. Mr. Bush does not allow anything that does not support his positions to be brought up and certainly not used. Even going so far, as to change the research results, to support his positions. Mr. Bush then has these false results published as truth, and even presented to and testified as the truth before Congress . Policies and laws are being passed based on these falsehoods, these lies.
This really is an Administration of “Know Nothing’s”. They are all about their beliefs, mostly based on their professed religious beliefs. When science does not agree with them, they throw out the science. When the law does not agree with them, they throw out the law. When the Constitution does not agree with them, they throw out the Constitution. When the truth does not agree with them, they tell lies. Ah hell, they tell lies even if the truth would serve them better.
My thought on this subject:

”Know-it-Alls know that they don’t. Know-Nothing’s claim they know it all”!

To these people, if you can do nuance, you are suspect. If you can listen to all sides of an issue, then decide, you are suspect. If you can make decisions based on what is best for the country, but may not be best for your Party, or your Religion, you are suspect. If you believe in the truth is always the truth, you are suspect. If you have too much education and a thinking mind, you are suspect. If you don’t blindly follow a leader, you are suspect. If you tell the truth, you are suspect. If you believe that this country and all of it’s promises are for every American, you are suspect. I am not suspect……. I am guilty of all of those. I stand with all those Patriots of America who used critical thinking, to not only bring about this country, but worked hard to advance this country, to make this country what it was in 2000.

Of course, we had many bumps and chuckholes along the way. This Administration has brought about the Grand Canyon of chuckholes! Or the Mt. Everest of bumps! Either way, it has been a bumpy ride and will get worse, before we get this mess cleaned up. We will have to really do some heavy building to fix the mess this Cabal is leaving us with. Think National debt, destroying of Medicare, social services, infrastructure, wars, relations with other nations. The list is almost non-ending.
Time to get on with it. The only way to do so, is kick these asses out of power. All of them. Never let anyone who believes the same way back into power. So, work to defeat those who have gone along with this traitorous behavior.
Ask everyone you come in contact with, “Are you better off now than you were in 2000”?
Here are the quotes I found that made me think on this subject. Hope you find at least one which makes you want to do all that you can to make some changes for this country.

Don’t interfere with anything in the Constitution. That must be maintained, for it is the only safeguard of our liberties.

~Abraham Lincoln~

Protecting the rights of even the least individual among us is basically the only excuse the government has for even existing.

~Ronald Reagan~

Here in America we are descended in blood and in spirit from revolutionists and rebels - men and women who dare to dissent from accepted doctrine. As their heirs, may we never confuse honest dissent with disloyal subversion.

~Dwight D. Eisenhower~

It behooves every man who values liberty of conscience for himself, to resist invasions of it in the case of others: or their case may, by change of circumstances, become his own.

~Thomas Jefferson ~

I despise people who go to the gutter on either the right or the left and hurl rocks at those in the center.

~Dwight D. Eisenhower~

Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves.

~Abraham Lincoln~

To sin by silence when they should protest makes cowards of men.

~Abraham Lincoln~

We should be too big to take offense and too noble to give it.

I also believe that academic freedom should protect the right of a professor or student to advocate Marxism, socialism, communism, or any other minority viewpoint-no matter how distasteful to the majority, provided.

~Richard M. Nixon~

We cannot learn from one another until we stop shouting at one another - until we speak quietly enough so that our words can be heard as well as our voices.

~Richard M. Nixon~

If we love our country, we should also love our countrymen.

~Ronald Reagan~

A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.

~Thomas Jefferson~

(this is why we are a Constitutional Republic)
All, too, will bear in mind this sacred principle, that though the will of the majority is in all cases to prevail, that will to be rightful must be reasonable; that the minority possess their equal rights, which equal law must protect, and to violate would be oppression.

~Thomas Jefferson~

An association of men who will not quarrel with one another is a thing which has never yet existed, from the greatest confederacy of nations down to a town meeting or a vestry.

~Thomas Jefferson~

Educate and inform the whole mass of the people… They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty.

~Thomas Jefferson~

Enlighten the people generally, and tyranny and oppressions of body and mind will vanish like evil spirits at the dawn of day.
