Drip, Drip, Drip

Each day I think I have read, heard or seen the worst that this government, this country and some of the people in it can possible do. Each day, I find that there is a new outrage to scream at. Sometimes I feel like just shutting down. Just stay quiet and enjoy my life in this safe place in which I live.

After the last “election”, I did close down. I spent my days working outside and enjoying nature. I thought that I could not change anything. That speaking the truth to power was not doing any good. What good had all our work, our writing, our talking to others done? I just stopped talking, writing and acting.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

There were just too many Americans who refused to use their brain, to use critical thinking as our Founding Father’s expected us to do. To use the brain that they say their God gave to them. Instead they allow themselves to be deceived with lies and “core issues”. They allowed themselves to vote for a group, just because they claim to be Christians. Does not their “Good Book” say, “By their fruits ye shall know them”?

I could not stop my thoughts. A nagging in my brain would not leave me alone. I could not rest and just live my life. I had to look at what I had always questioned. How could the good people of Germany allow Hitler and the Fascist regime to come to power? Was I and the rest of the good people of America allowing this to happen here? By not standing up and speaking out, we were no different than those people who lived their lives and did not oppose what happened in the world in the 1930’s and 1940’s.

I am now beginning to see a change in this country. More and more people have taken off their blindfolds and are now thinking for themselves. All those who kept up the good fight, had done some good. Not soon enough, but a change is a-coming. Maybe, just maybe the true evildoers of this country went too far, too fast. Or Americans truly do believe in their Rights and will not let the Government take away those Rights. Maybe the fear has gone on too long and the American People understand that “The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself”. F. D. Roosevelt. That you don’t beat them, by becoming them.

Evil comes on wings. Swiftly it’s work is done. The reason why Evil wins out to begin with, is that those who are Evil will do anything. They will cheat, lie, steal and kill to win while the Good Folks of this world will not do those things, to bring about the right course. The Good People still believe in change lawfully, morally and protecting all American’s Rights. It takes longer for Good to prevail. Reminds me of the old saying “A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.” ~Mark Twain~ (1835-1910), I still believe that Good triumphs over Evil, in the end! I still believe that most people are good!

When will we learn to always fight for Good, to stop Evil at the onset?

We don’t have to be a Gandhi to make things right in this world. We don’t have to be the stream flooding, to change the course of the river. A little drop of water over time will change the world.

So I am back. I am but one little drop, but joined with others, we will change the world.
