What’s In A Name?
Dictators Call Their Countries Fatherland, Motherland or Homeland.
I noticed this years ago and wrote this thought down. Never thinking that I would be talking about my own country.
Governments which are Democratic care more for the people of the country and their Rights and not about their power and their total control over the people, the laws and the land.
This is my country! Land of my birth!
This is my country! Grandest on earth!
I pledge thee my allegiance, America, the bold,
For this is my country to have and to hold.
This is my country! Land of my choice!
This is my country! Hear my proud voice!
I pledge thee my allegiance, America, the bold,
For this is my country! To have and to hold.”
“I pledge thee my allegiance, America,” not Homeland.
Under this Administration it is all about the Government, and those in power. Not the people and their Rights. Not our country, our Constitution.
When the people fear the government you have tyranny;
when the government fears the people you have liberty.
~Thomas Jefferson ~
I will not fight for and die for:
a HOMELAND,
a MOTHERLAND,
a FATHERLAND
a GOVERNMENT
a PARTY.
I will fight and will die for:
MY COUNTRY
The AMERICAN PEOPLE
The AMERICAN CONSTITUTION
The AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE.
This is where my home is.
BUT THIS IS NOT MY HOMELAND! THIS IS MY COUNTRY!
